FAY CARDWELL
Fay Cardwell is the CEO and founding member of the Roof Tech management. Fay attended Seneca High School and the University of Louisville. Fay is the administrative and financial manager of Roof Tech, Inc. handling the financial inception of the firm, and helps to develop estimates as Roof Tech formulates proposals for client projects.
Fay, a bookkeeper by trade, handles all financial and risk management aspects of the company, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and management of retirement and compensation policies. Fay oversees the publication and quality control of client assessment reports and project manuals for roofing projects monitoring the inputs and insuring the final products meet company standards. She directs the marketing efforts of Roof Tech Inc and reviews all company correspondence. Fay also provides oversight of the continuing education of company personnel to insure Roof Tech Inc remains on the forefront of the ever changing technical challenges in the roofing industry.
MICHAEL H. CARDWELL, RRC
Michael H. Cardwell, President of Roof Tech, Inc., has been active in the roofing industry since 1972, and is a graduate of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. As a contractor he served on the Board of Directors of the National Roofing Contractors Association from 1997 through 1999. Mike also served two two-year terms as the president of the Northwestern Indiana Roofing Contractors Association. He was instrumental in the establishment of a roofing apprenticeship education program in northwest Indiana.
As a consultant Mike has served as the President and one of the founders of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Roof Consultants Institute, and has served on at least two committees per year since he joined the Institute. Mike also served on the committee the re-wrote the exam and credential requirements for the Registered Roof Consultant accreditation.
Mike has earned the Registered Roof Consultant certification from The Roof Consultants Institute. Mike received this distinction in 1990, and was the first person in Indiana and the 23rd person in the country to be designated as a registered consultant. He also has earned the Registered Roof Observer certification. His background experience as a contractor gives Mike a unique perspective as a consultant. He is able to bring hands-on knowledge of the bidding process, the ability to write workable specifications and realistic budgets, and to accurately judge the progress and quality of work by the contractors.
MIKE CARDWELL, JR
Mike Cardwell, JR received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing Michigan and holds a Master’s degree in economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Mike comes to the company with a varied background, having worked for Parsons and The Lewin Group in Virginia. In his five years at Parsons, Mike worked on major projects for the U S Army, Navy and Air Force assessing the condition of housing across the United States and at military installations abroad, and developing budgeting, asset management and cost modeling applications. Mike spent five summers working at Culver Roofing in Gary, IN where he gained basic roofing material, equipment and installation knowledge. Mike is currently teaching economics at Ivy Tech Community College in addition to performing administrative and technical work for Roof Tech, and taking roofing industry related classes.
